Children’s Taco Camp: Easy enough, cook a little chicken, sear some ground meat, prep some lettuce and cheese and stuff these in a taco shell, like the old taco making kits. Perfect, straight-forward and entertaining, right?
Wrong. I’m a chef not a baby sitter and if I’m not entertained by the food being produced then what’s the point? If there is no excitement or passion then it becomes mundane, pedestrian, uninspired corporate, middle America style mediocrity. You might as well buy from the Schwan’s truck.
Therefore my kid’s classes deserve to be Cheffed Up just as much as the adult versions. It’s never too young to start establishing proper habits in the kitchen. These habits should be based on correct use of technique, respect for tradition, utilization of fresh ingredients and meticulous sanitation.
